Horseradish peroxidase catalyzed free radical cannot free move in reaction solution
Written by   Published On Issue 4 Vol 1, 2009
Mechanism of Horseradish Peroxidase -catalyzed phenol compound oxidizing reaction is a radical polymerization. Many polymer preparation are also carry on through the radical polymerization mechanism We deduce if free radical produced by peroxidasecatalyzed phenol polymerization could apply on polymer preparation? Could the phenol–oxygen free radical leave off the peroxidase and catalyze other compounds polymerization? The free radical in phenol oxidation process was investigated in homogen

Effect of hormones, explants and genotypes in in vitro culturing of sorghum
Written by   Published On Issue 4 Vol 1, 2009
In vitro culturing of sorghum is very much influenced by genotypes, explants, media composition and hormones. Among the genotypes tested CO 25 was found to show high frequency of callus induction and regeneration. Regeneration efficiency of embryogenic calli from CO 25 was found to be greater (88-98%) than that of calli derived from other explants (Immature inflorescence, Mature embryo and Shoot tips) of different genotypes (CO 26, TNS 586 and CO-S-28). Out of the different media tried for callu

Study of oxidative stress, homocysteine, copper & zinc in nephrotic syndrome: therapy with antioxidants, minerals and B-complex vitamins
Written by   Published On Issue 4 Vol 1, 2009
Oxidative damage has been proposed as one of the possible mechanism involved in the nephrotic syndrome. Strengthening the defense system by antioxidants may provide protection against oxidative damage. Therefore, this study was carried out to investigate oxidant and antioxidant status with copper, zinc and homocysteine in nephrotic syndrome patients and the effect of antioxidants, minerals and B-complex vitamins on oxidant and antioxidant status. The blood samples were analyzed for quantitation

Plant biotechnological patents from the legal perspective
Written by   Published On Issue 4 Vol 1, 2009
The purpose of this article is to examine the extent to which plant biotechnological patent in terms of natural product which has human intervention, different from other product and the entitlement of such a patent whether it is the inventor or biological donor s patent? In addition, the article discusses how would one determine the value added” by the company s researchers as opposed to the value contributed by the original genetic material. Meanwhile, the poor farmers and indigenous people
