The Journal of Biochemical Technology is committed to ensuring transparency and maintaining the integrity of the editorial and publication process. All authors, reviewers, and editors are required to disclose any competing interests that could reasonably be perceived to influence the preparation, review, or publication of a manuscript.
A competing interest does not necessarily prevent publication. However, full disclosure enables editors, reviewers, and readers to evaluate the work in an informed and transparent manner.
Competing interests may be financial or non-financial and include, but are not limited to:
Employment, consultancy, advisory roles, honoraria, salaries, grants, or other financial support from organizations that may benefit from or be affected by the published work.
Ownership of stocks, shares, or other financial investments related to the subject of the manuscript.
Ownership of, or applications for, patents, copyrights, or other intellectual property associated with the reported research.
Institutional affiliations, leadership positions, or memberships in organizations or advocacy groups with interests related to the manuscript.
Personal, academic, political, religious, or ideological relationships or beliefs that could reasonably be perceived as influencing the research or its interpretation.
Financial or non-financial relationships with commercial organizations, including pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, or other companies sponsoring clinical trials, laboratory studies, field studies, or related research. Authors must clearly describe the nature of these relationships.
During manuscript submission, each author is responsible for declaring all relevant competing interests. The corresponding author must ensure that disclosures are complete and accurately represent all co-authors.
Editors and reviewers are also required to declare any competing interests that may affect their impartiality. Individuals with significant conflicts of interest will be excluded from handling or reviewing the manuscript, and alternative editors or reviewers will be assigned to ensure an unbiased evaluation.
If competing interests are disclosed, they will be published in the article under the Competing Interests section. If no competing interests exist, the following statement will be included:
"The authors declare that they have no competing interests."
Failure to disclose relevant competing interests may result in editorial actions, including rejection of the manuscript, publication of a correction, or retraction after publication, where appropriate, in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies.
